New era for London drinking water after £20m IT upgrade
The new system monitors operations of the five big treatment works in London and more than 200 other facilities

Computer systems that control London’s drinking water supplies have been upgraded in a £20 million project by Thames Water.
The so-called ClearSCADA platform replaced the former 25-year-old system.
It will monitor operations of the five big treatment works in the capital and more than 200 service reservoirs, pumping stations and boreholes.
Carly Bradburn, Thames Water’s Head of Digital Operations, said: “The old system was over 25 years old and software updates were no longer available. Replacing it needed the engagement of multiple stakeholder groups, external suppliers and companies, and has been a vast undertaking.
To complement Vodafone Ghana’s passion to empower girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM), Vodafone Ghana Foundation has organized a mentorship program to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day.
The program hosted some Executive Team including, CEO of Vodafone Ghana, Patricia Obo-Nai; Human Resource Director, Hannah Ashiokai Akrong; Director of Legal and External Affairs, Geta Striggner-Quartey; Director of Commercial and Digital Operations, Angela Mensah-Poku; and Director, Enterprise Business Unit and Wholesale, Tawa Bolarin, aimed at encouraging young girls to pursue their career goals and give them first hands-on training on Coding, Robotics and Website Development.

It was pretty obvious where the president stood on the George Floyd case long before the jury reached a verdict.
If you know Democrat Joe Biden’s politics, you know he thought the Minneapolis cop who kneeled on the neck of a Black man for nine minutes and 29 seconds was guilty. Just as every thinking American did, too. Defense arguments like exhaust fumes from the cop’s car played a role be damned.
