Spainâs Diario de Navarra refining strategies to boost digital subscribers
During the past year, the staff of Diario de Navarra (DN), a regional news publisher based in Pamplona, Spain, have been intensifying their efforts to drive digital subscriptions.Â

These efforts include a vigorous onboarding programme for new subscribers throughout their first 100 days to encourage them to keep coming back to the DN site and make them aware of all the benefits of subscribing, including free access for a friend or relative, Diario de Navarraâs newsletters (some 20 in all) and, of course, the latest articles.
âFor us, itâs very important these 100 first days,â says EstefanÃa Nicolás, DNâs Director of Digital Strategy, Marketing and Sales. âWe have to make sure that they come, if not every day, almost every day. If they donât use the content, they are going to unsubscribe, and we are going to have a high churn rate.âÂ

Here s an interesting wrinkle in Instagram s ongoing effort to stop people re-sharing feed posts to Stories.
Over the last few weeks, amid escalating tensions in Palestine, various Instagram users have noted that their posts are not being seen in the app, which some have equated to a form of censorship, implying that Instagram has been deliberately seeking to limit pro-Palestinian voices in the app. Among those who ve raised concerns on this front have been celebrities like Mia Khalifa and Bella Hadid
Instagram has strongly denied any form of censorship in this respect, but it has identified a problem impacting the reach of such content - a recent algorithm change to reduce the reach of feed posts that have been re-shared to Stories.

Twitter has announced a new test of ads within Fleets, its take on the stories format, which will see ads inserted between Fleets as users tap through the full-screen frames.
As you can see here, Fleets ads are much like TikTok or Instagram Stories promotions, appearing between Fleets from the people you follow on the platform, and designated with a Promoted tag beneath the profile info in the top left of screen. That adds another consideration for Twitter advertisers, with the prominent placement of Fleets helping to prompt further attention, while it also, for the first time, provides full-screen, vertical format ads within the app.
