AUSTIN, Texas The Texas Deparmtnet of Public Safety (DPS) and the Travis County District Attorney s Office have released a joint statement.
The statement comes after authorities were investigating allegations by a Capitol staffer that she was drugged with a date-rape drug by a lobbyist during a meeting downtown.
The statement reads as follows:

Three people were killed in a shooting in Northwest Austin on Sunday morning.
And, after hours on the run, the suspect who is former law enforcement was taken into custody on Monday morning.
The shooting happened at Great Hills Trail and Rain Creek Parkway at the Arboretum Oaks Apartments. According to Austin-Travis County EMS, three adults were killed. The victims have been tentatively identified as two Hispanic females and a Black male. Officials say they believe the victims were all known to the suspect, but their exact relationship is unknown.

The Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza says 41-year-old Stephen Broderick has been charged with capital murder and is being held without bond in the Travis County Jail.
AUSTIN, Texas - A nearly 24-hour manhunt came to an end early Monday morning as 41-year-old Stephen Broderick was taken into custody by Manor Police and Travis County Sheriff Deputies.
The Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza says 41-year-old Stephen Broderick has been charged with capital murder and is being held without bond in the Travis County Jail.
