Texas Toddler Dies After Mom’s Boyfriend Beats Him Over Potty Training

A 2-year-old boy in Texas died after he was struck by his mother s boyfriend, causing the toddler to hit his head on the toilet during potty training.
Tevin Jefferson died Tuesday at a home in Houston. His mother, Darrielle Williams and her boyfriend, Johvonte Johnson, are facing child injury charges.
An incident report revealed Williams took Jefferson to a Houston emergency room after the child suffered head trauma. The boy was later pronounced dead.
During the preliminary investigation, Williams claimed the injury was caused after the child accidentally fell in the bath. However, her story didn t match the wounds seen on the toddler’s body, authorities said.
A Killeen man is facing a criminal charge following a July 2020 incident involving a child.
Wesley David Battles, 30, has been charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to a criminal complaint affidavit. On July 9 the Killeen Police Department was notified by an employee of Texas Child Protective Services that an allegation of sexual assault of a child had surfaced during an investigation. This was backed up by a video interview of the victim, who reported that she had sexual contact with the suspect, Battles, at his house when the victim would visit with her mother.

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - Ashley McAlpine, 28, whose 2-year-old daughter died of blunt force trauma days before her third birthday in September 2019, was in the Bell County Jail Friday, charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.
Sheâs held in lieu of $500,000 bond, according to online records.
