Following the opening of applications for the Detroit Apple Developer Academy, Apple has detailed how the program benefits students around the globe. The Apple Developer Academy is not just about learning to code, said Antonio Chiappetta, part of the very first cohort in 2016. It s about breaking barriers and empowering students, and has infused me with the enthusiasm and curiosity that drive me today.
Chiappetta went on from his Apple course to become an iOS developer, working in Paris on the award-winning brain training app, Elevate.
During her Apple Developer Academy training in Jakarta, Indonesia, Aisyah Widya Nur Shadrina and her team developed the sign language translation app, Hearo. That team went on to Apple s Entrepreneur Camp in 2020, and this year will be attending WWDC 2021 virtually.
As new Apple Developer Academy programs begin recruiting in Detroit and Korea, Apple has showcased the impact of this coding course for students worldwide.

The Zigbee Alliance, now known as the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), has announced Matter, its new connectivity standard for smart homes.
The proliferation of connected objects continues to change the way we live, work and play. From homes to offices, factories to hospitals, connected objects enable us to experience our environments in cohesive, interactive ways. Yet, for too long, disconnected platforms and disparate development paths have caused confusion for consumers and complicated processes for developers and innovators. Smart objects should be reliable, secure, and work together – this is the shared vision behind Project Connected Home over IP (CHIP), now known as the new standard, Matter.
