The Detroit Lakes Tribune accepts community calendar items, for publication online and in our Wednesday and Sunday print editions, space permitting.
Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com.
Each submission must include the following: Date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Polar Fest s Little Polar Bear game provides plenty of family-friendly activities
The Detroit Lakes Early Childhood Family Education program is inviting all families with kids age 0-5 to take part in its new Little Polar Bear game, which is being held in conjunction with Polar Fest 2021. The game features 25 different activities that the whole family can enjoy together and even win a few prizes along the way.

Kayden, 2, enjoyed some Tummy Time with his six-week-old little brother, Carson, recently. The activity was one of more than two dozen included in the new Little Polar Bear game organized by Polar Fest and Detroit Lakes Early Childhood Family Education. The game, which includes a series of incentive prizes for completing activities, will conclude Feb. 12, though families can continue doing the activities together even after it ends. (Submitted photo)
