(NASHVILLE) Each of Tennessee’s 95 counties experienced decreased unemployment in November 2020, according to new data released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Rutherford County tied for fourth place with Smith, Wilson and Sevier counties. Unemployment rates in 41 counties are now less than 5 per cent. Fifty-four counties recorded rates of 5 per cent or higher during the month. Williamson County had the lowest unemployment rate. At 3.3 per cent, its November rate dropped by 1.3 percentage points when compared to October. The new rate is just 1 percentage point higher than it was in November 2019.
Shelby County’s unemployment rate dropped more than any other county in the state.

Unemployment rates in 41 counties are now less than 5%. Fifty-four counties recorded rates of 5% or higher during the month.
Williamson County had the lowest unemployment rate. At 3.3%, its November rate dropped by 1.3 percentage points when compared to October. The new rate is just 1 percentage point higher than it was in November 2019.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development said that unemployment rates in 41 counties were less than 5% and that Williamson County saw the lowest unemployment rate at 3.3%. In October, officials said the county had an unemployment rate of 4.6%.
Lake County in West Tennessee saw the highest jobless rate at 8.1% in November. However, the rate dropped 2% compared to the month before, officials said.

(NASHVILLE) Unemployment across Tennessee decreased significantly in November 2020 according to newly released data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD).
Tennessee’s preliminary, seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November is 5.3%, a 2 percentage point drop from October’s revised rate of 7.3%. The new statistic is just 2 percentage points higher than the state’s unemployment rate one year ago in November.
The current rate is also 2 percentage points higher than it was in March 2020, just one month before the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic took hold in Tennessee. In April, Tennessee’s unemployment reached its all-time high of 15.5%.
