LUBLIN, WI (WSAU-WAOW) A two-year-old has died after being struck by a train in Taylor County.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call of a train that had struck a pedestrian in the village of Lublin just after 5:15 Tuesday night.
Investigators say the two-year-old was running on the side of the tracks as a Canadian Railway train was heading southbound. The conductor saw the child and attempted to stop the train, but couldn’t.
The sheriff’s office says the accident is still being investigated. Names of those involved have not been released at this time.
