Regional Medical Center is warning the public of COVID-19 vaccine scams.
Hospital officials are asking everyone to be aware of scammers who are trying to take advantage of vulnerability during this pandemic.
Do not respond to solicitations about vaccines or provide any type of financial or personal identification information via phone, text message, email or computer pop-ups. Scammers may even tell you that you can “reserve” your COVID vaccine by prepaying or they may offer you a prepaid gift card in exchange for the “vaccine” they have.
Once a COVID vaccine is available to the public locally, RMC says there will be clear communication from your trusted federal and state agencies and local healthcare partners.
