Ottendorf Laboratories will provide free COVID-19 testing at the Davidson County Fairgrounds seven days a week, according to the Davidson County Health Department. Ottendorff Laboratories reached out to Davidson County requesting to offer this service, said Janna Walker, the public health strategist for the Health Department. The company received funding to conduct testing. It is a truly free opportunity, no insurance card or billing information will be requested.
The only other free COVID testing location in Davidson County is at the Health Department from 9-10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and by appointment only. Anyone, not just Davidson County residents, can have a free test performed at the fairgrounds.

GREENSBORO, N.C. The limited state supply of COVID-19 vaccines has trickled down to Triad Health Departments as they struggle with mass vaccination programs.
The vaccination process is a huge task that has so far gone slower than people would like.
But Triad County Health department leaders said they are facing the challenges head-on despite a limited supply of vaccines. We have been able to ramp up a vaccination process in the last few weeks to thousands of people every week, said Dr. Julia Vann, director at Guilford County Health Department.
Davidson County declared critical for outspread of COVID-19

Davidson County has surpassed 7,000 reported COVID-19 cases and currently has close to 1,000 active cases, according to the Davidson County Health Department.
These numbers have put Davidson County in the “Red” category, which means the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services considers there is “critical community outspread” with at least 42 cases in the past 14 days.
According to the Davidson County Health Department, they are receiving an average of 96 new cases a day.
