The city has decided to cancel a parking ticket issued to a tree-damaged car in Parkdale.
Photos of the silver Volkswagen with a yellow parking infraction notice placed on the car’s caved-in windshield went viral over the weekend, prompting questions about professional courtesy by parking enforcement officers, and vague bylaws regarding written-off vehicles parked on city streets.

Brian Moniz, operations supervisor for Toronto Parking Enforcement, said the tree fell on the car on April 24, and parking enforcement received a complaint about the vehicle on Cowan Ave. on May 12.
