The event took place last Thursday evening at the beginning of the annual Genoa Homecoming. The new marker from the Ohio History Connection was made possible through the sponsorship of the Village of Genoa, the Genoa Historical Society and the William Pomeroy Foundation, which provides grants for 10 Ohio historical sites per year. The Roaring ‘20s a much-needed party for Genoa Homecoming 2021 A highlight of Genoa Homecoming 2021 will be Friday’s Grand Parade that should line the streets in the village on Friday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. GENOA The Roaring ‘20s is the theme for Genoa Homecoming 2021 on Thursday through Saturday. Mayor Tom Bergman is billing the hometown blast as the “Get Back to Normal Fest” for area celebrants and visitors eager to put the Covid-19 pandemic behind them. “The streets in downtown Genoa will be crowded on Thursday through Saturday (June 24-26) for all of the fun and games, especially for the Grand Parade on Friday (June 25) afternoon at 6:30 p.m.,” said Bergman. “That includes a big fireworks show on Saturday at dusk.

Tull Family Theater hosts two Black women filmmakers for first-ever artists-in-residency program

Now the theater has announced a new artists-in-residency program to advance the work of two local Black filmmakers. The theater will host Nadine M. Patterson and Martha Richards Conley for a year-long residency meant to support the production of their docudrama about Lewis Latimer, an under-recognized Black inventor who developed a successful light bulb filament in the 1880s.
