As unusual winter weather continues to sweep southern states, Dow, Inc. has had to shut down some of its operations along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
While headquartered here in Midland, the major material science company has several manufacturing sites in Texas and Louisiana along the southern coast of the United States, which are currently experiencing severe winter weather, including ice and freezing temperatures. The winter storms have caused power outages to millions of households, forcing some Texas residents to sleep in their vehicles to stay warm.
