West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday refuted the allegation of nepotism levelled against him by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra. She alleged people related to the Governor had been appointed as officers on special duty (OSD) in the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata.

New Delhi, April 2 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to contest from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 elections and said she would never be labelled as an outsider . This came after a tweet by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra which fuelled speculation that the TMC Chief might be challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi.
Addressing an election rally in West Bengal on Thursday, Modi said several rumours are doing the rounds that Mamata Banerjee might contest from another constituency in West Bengal where polling would be held in the last and phase of elections.

NEW DELHI: Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday clarified that the salary earned by Indian workers in Gulf countries would continue to be exempt from income tax in India.
Reacting to a tweet by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra, the finance minister emphasised that recent amendments in the Finance Act, 2021 will not put any additional or new tax burden on non-resident Indians working in the Gulf.
