LEAD launches with new CEO

LINCOLN, IL – A major new regional economic development organization has been formally launched and has also named a new chief executive officer.
Lincoln Economic Advancement & Development, Inc. (LEAD) is announcing the hiring of Andrea Runge, an economic development professional with more than 20 years’ experience in community and economic development in Illinois as CEO of the organization. The hiring of Runge coincides with the official launch of the new economic development group aimed at growing opportunities and businesses in Lincoln.
The formal launch of LEAD is the culmination of an effort that began nearly two years ago when Lincoln area business and community leaders began meeting to discuss ways to grow the local economy,retain and create more jobs and opportunities for residents of Lincoln. The organization has also announced its officers and board members.

Kelsey Mason, NP earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner Degree in 2013 from Cox College in Springfield, Missouri where she graduated at the top of her class. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri in 2010 where she graduated magna cum laude.
County COVID-19 Report
As the 2020 year ended there were a total cases of 1,716 persons in Randolph County who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus according to the county health department s report issued Dec. 31.
On that final December day, there were 80 active cases, 11 persons hospitalized, 1,611 persons had been released from isolation and 25 deaths attributed to the coronavirus the report indicated.
The Wednesday, Jan. 6 COVID-19 report issued by the Randolph County Health Department showed that a total of 1,782 persons in the county had the virus since testing were first documented last March.
This means there has been 66 new cases recorded during the first six days of the year 2021, and there has been one more death.
