Image Source: IANS News Chennai, April 20 : The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), which is the monopoly of liquor sale in the state, has now started issuing tokens at the outlets to reduce the crowding of consumers taking into account the surge in Covid cases. There will not be more than five customers at a Tasmac shop at a time owing to the new regulations. The protocol would come into effect immediately. The office of the Tasmac managing director in a press release said that the timings at the liquor outlets and bars will be curbed by one hour and will shut shutters by 9 p.m.

Corpn zones get Covid nodal officers | Coimbatore News

Coimbatore: The city corporation has appointed nodal officers at the zonal-level to coordinate among the departments and reduce the Covid-19 spread. S Prasanna Ramasamy, senior regional manager, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, will be incharge of south zone, while Dr P Menaha, special officer cum district revenue officer incharge of temple lands, has been appointed nodal officer for north zone. A source said S Madhuranthagi, deputy corporation commissioner, will be incharge of east zone and A Shadhanaikural, senior regional manager, Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation, will be incharge of west zone. Deputy commissioner (excise) M S Kalaivani will be incharge of central zone.

Receipts issued on liquor sale, HC told Updated: Updated: Share Article Madurai The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) on Tuesday submitted before the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court that a circular was issued to Tasmac shops to provide receipts for the sale of liquor, pursuant to the order of the court. Tasmac also submitted there was no violation with regard to maximum retail prices (MRP). Taking note of the submissions, a Division Bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and S. Ananthi directed the Tasmac to follow the order of the court in letter and spirit. The court was hearing the public interest litigation petition filed by activist M. Rajeswari Priya of Anaithu Makkal Arasiyal Katchi who sought a direction to the State to curb corrupt practices in Tasmac shops.
