After KBC 12, Amitabh Bachchan to host a reality show to promote Uttarakhand tourism
Amitabh Bachchan is set to host a new reality show, which will promote Uttarakhand tourism. The show named 100 Days in Heaven will be be telecast on several TV news and entertainment channels.

Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 on Sony TV, will soon be seen as a host of a reality show promoting Uttarakhand tourism. The Uttarakhand cabinet took this decision in a meeting headed by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat late on Friday (January 15) night.

DEHRADUN: The latest voter list of Uttarakhand has revealed decline in voters of hilly areas of the state assembly constituencies while in plain areas voters continue to increase in numbers.
So much so that now 12 hill side constituencies have less than 90,000 voters. The state has total 70 assembly constituencies.
Analysts say if the trend continues, political importance of the hill areas will weaken which may prompt further negligence of the remote hills of Uttarakhand inducing more migration than ever.
Shekhar Pathak, Padam Shri awardee activist, author from Uttarakhand, commenting on the matter said, The data is indicator of recording population from hilly areas. The most important step needed here is including geographic criteria too in delimitation of constituency seats. DEHRADUN: More than 5 lakh people have migrated from Uttarakhand in the last 10 years, revealed an RTI reply.
The query filed by Hemant Gaunia, an activist based in Haldwani of Nainital district also revealed that from 6338 village panchayats total 1,18,961 have migrated out of Uttarakhand permanently, which means not to return ever, while 3,83,726 have migrated in search of work and better life, who keep visiting their native places in the hill state. Now it is more than 20 years since the formation of Uttarakhand state in November 2000. Our successive governments have failed to find any solution to check the migration from hills. Much needed infrastructure, job opportunities and other basic facilities are still lacking, said Gaunia.
