New Delhi: India s daily number of COVID-19 cases today jumped 6.88% since yesterday to touch 20,021. The number of fresh fatalities, 279, remained the same as yesterday, according to data released by the Central Health Ministry. The overall death count since the outbreak in January is now 1,47,901 while the country s total number of active cases stood at 2,77,301 out of the 1,02,07,871 positives recorded till now. The number of recoveries today increased by 21,131, to touch 97,82,669.

On the advice of doctors, COVID-19 positive Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has been admitted to Doon Hospital in Dehradun, Chief Minister`s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
It is being said that he was admitted to the hospital on Sunday due to fever and mild infection in the lungs.
