Suffolk police dealt with 36.7% more incidents than on average across the previous three years, according to the most recent figures. The number of crimes increased from an average of 1,409 in 2017-19 to a total of 1,926 in the year of the pandemic. Meanwhile, the overall solved rate fell from 11.2% of crimes on average to 9.8% last year.
