Shopko Building In Duluth Has A New Owner
Since the store closed in 2019, many have speculated what would end up moving into the former Shopko location in Duluth. After all, it s location on Central Entrance represents a prime piece of real estate. Now it appears we have our answer.
According to details released by Business North, Furniture Mart USA has bought the building and the surrounding land: Furniture Mart USA paid $3 million for the building and 6.7 acres . The move ends the rumor mill that has been circulating about potential tenants and buyers.
A Halloween-based holiday store (Spirit Halloween) occupied the site for a few months near the end of last summer (2020) and through the fall season. That store proved to be temporary only, closing after the Halloween holiday was finished.

Furniture Mart USA has purchased the building and land at 801 W. Central Entrance in Duluth for $3 million, according to state real estate records.
The 6.7-acre lot in the Stone Ridge Shopping Center is home to the former Shopko building, which closed in June 2019. Spirit Halloween opened a pop-up shop in the building from August to November 2020.
