Popular messaging platform WhatsApp recently brought about a change in its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, angering many of its users. There are concerns regarding these new policies. The users fear that the new privacy policy will be used by the Facebook-owned platform to spy on them.
Your WhatsApp is public now and there's nothing you can do about it - The updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are applicable to all services provided by WhatsApp, unless it is specified that it is not the case.

New Delhi: WhatsApp has updated its new Terms and Privacy Policy emphasising that users will be required to agree to the same or else they may need delete their account.
WhatsApp updates Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and if WhatsApp users do not want to agree to the new privacy rules, they may as well delete their account. The updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy which will take effect on February 8, applies to all of WhatsApp Services unless specified otherwise.
