POCATELLO – At a special meeting Monday, the Pocatello City Council voted to rescind the City’s face covering ordinance effective Wednesday, April 28. Additionally, Councilmembers approved a motion to call a special meeting to consider reimplementing a face-covering ordinance if active cases rise to 15 or more per 10,000 for 14 consecutive days or 30 or more per 10,000 for 3 consecutive days. Per city policy, masks are still required for city employees and for citizens who enter city facilities and participate in programs and activities. Citizens are required to wear face coverings when entering any city of Pocatello building or facility or riding in public transportation buses. Citizens participating in city-sponsored programs or activities in outdoor spaces do not have to wear a face-covering unless six feet of physical distancing

(Shutterstock) SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA A plan to streamline the environmental review process for energy projects in unincorporated areas was unanimously approved Wednesday by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. The goal is to simplify and enhance current site plan and design reviews, project development requirements, and permit streamlining opportunities to reduce renewable energy project development barriers, according to the board. According to a county Planning & Development Services presentation, increasing the number of renewable projects in San Diego County including solar panels and wind turbines could increase energy supply, create over 40,000 jobs, and reduce energy consumption through incentives like weather- proofing.

Pocatello adapts COVID-19 protocols Pocatello City Hall POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI)-The city of Pocatello is adjusting its protocols in the wake of Governor Brad Little’s move to Stage 3 under the Idaho Rebounds plan. As a result, all city council meetings this week will be held virtually, with limited in-person attendance. Masks and face coverings are required.  In-person meetings will resume next week. The Pocatello Animal Shelter will now allow more than 10 people in the facility at a time.  On February 8, the Community Recreation Center will allow more than 10, but no more than 50, into areas like the weight room and pool.   The steam room will remain closed.  Dance classes will continue to be limited to participants and instructors only.
