‘I wondered, was I dreaming?’: New England Patriots team plane will bring health care workers to Super Bowl

The New England Patriots are not going to the Super Bowl this year, but their owner is making sure health care workers from around the region are among those who will watch the game in person.
Among the 76 health care “superheroes” representing all six New England states are two Baystate Health employees and another from Springfield’s Mercy Medical Center.
“It’s a phenomenal honor, one of those once-in-a-lifetime dreams,” said Baystate employee Stephen Boyle Sr., who will be among the health care workers attending Sunday’s Super Bowl as guests of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Ware looks to future as Baystate Health seeks to close Mary Lane

WARE Baystate Health, while explaining this week the rationale behind its planned shutdown of the Mary Lane Outpatient Center, said that of the 28 patients per day seeking care at Mary Lane’s emergency room, over 85 percent present with common, minor, non-urgent conditions which could be treated in a primary care setting.
But to Tracy Opalinski of Ware, that means four of the 28 patients each day are experiencing a life-threatening situation and need to get to an emergency room right away.
Lately, places of worship have had to cut down on their capacity limits.
That also goes for many restaurants, who in addition to capacity rollbacks, have had to shut down by 10:00 p.m. each night. Restaurants are pivoting their business models to be able to survive during the pandemic.
Future reopening decisions will depend on how many people are able to get the vaccine, according to Lamont. Much safer to go to church once you ve been vaccinated, go to a house of worship once you ve been vaccinated. So, err on the side of caution but these are some changes we re going to make given the nature of the changes you ve seen,” Lamont said.
