NBN News | THREE INJURED AFTER CAR RAMS INTO POWER POLE ON THE CENTRAL COAST

Three people are recovering in hospital after a car rammed into a power pole on the Central Coast overnight. Around 12:30 this morning, emergency services were called to Shelley Beach Road, near the intersection of The Entrance Road, at Long Jetty, after a Volkswagen sedan hit a power pole. The driver, a 32-year-old woman, suffered head injuries and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where she remains in a serious condition. The two passengers, a 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were also taken to Gosford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene and are investigating.

Police appeal to find man missing from Tumbi Umbi

Date Time Police appeal to find man missing from Tumbi Umbi Police are appealing for public information to find a man missing from the Tuggerah Lakes area. Peter Lumsden, aged 53, left his home in Tumbi Umbi about 5pm on Tuesday (26 January 2021), and hasn’t been seen since. Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were notified of his disappearance and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts. Police and family have concerns for Peter’s welfare. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 172cm tall with a solid build, bald with green eyes. It’s unknown what he was wearing at the time.

Emergency crews responding to fire in unit complex at Entrance

A fire has damaged a unit complex on the state’s Central Coast. Shortly after 6:30pm yesterday (Friday 22 January 2021), emergency services respond to reports of a fire at a unit complex on Ocean Parade, The Entrance. About 30 residents were evacuated from the unit complex. There were no reports of any occupants being injured. Three police officers who assisted in evacuating residents suffered minor smoke inhalation. The officers were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics. NSW Fire Rescue were able to extinguish the fire. Damage was confined to two of the units. Residents of the units not affected by the fire damage were permitted to return to their units once deemed safe to do so.

Police charge man after armed robbery at Wyong

A man has been charged after an alleged armed robbery on the Central Coast. Police have been told about 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 20 January 2021), a man entered a variety store within a shopping centre on Alison Road, Wyong, and allegedly threatened an employee – a 25-year-old woman – with a knife. The man allegedly took money from the cash register before fleeing the store towards Wyong Train Station. Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended the station and arrested a 49-year-old man following a short foot pursuit. He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
