PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The remains of a young girl have been discovered along the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor in rural Lincoln County, Oregon State Police said Tuesday.
Detectives are seeking the public’s help identifying the child they believe was between ages 6 ½ and 10. Her remains were found Dec. 10 in the area of the scenic rest stop along the heavily wooded corridor, which winds through Oregon 18 from northwestern Polk County to Lincoln City.
Authorities said they are not aware of any missing children reports matching the child’s description.

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. – Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a young girl who was found dead in rural Lincoln County.
Oregon State Police detectives said on December 10, human remains were found at H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor, a heavily-wooded state park east of Lincoln City.
At the time, no further information was provided by investigators.
On December 29, detectives released more details. They said the remains found were that of a girl, estimated to be between 6.5 to 10 years old. She’s about 3’10” to 4’6” tall and had long hair that’s dark brown or black.
The girl’s race and ethnicity have not yet been determined and DNA analysis is not yet complete, OSP said.

OTIS, Ore. Oregon State Police detectives are asking for help identifying the remains of a girl found in rural Lincoln County in December.
Detectives said the remains were found on Dec. 10 in the H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor off of Highway 18, near Otis.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office estimated the girl was between 6.5 and 10 years old. She was approximately 4-foot-2, and had long, dark hair. Her race or ethnic origin was not yet determined.
