NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on Wednesday, the FBI is warning law enforcement across the country to heighten security as a precaution.
“So far there is no activity that’s noted by the local FBI agents that I’ve spoken with as early as this morning,” said Acting Chief Scott Weems of the Nacogdoches Police Department.
Yet, out of precaution, increased patrol has been added at courthouses, downtowns and undisclosed areas.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The arrival of the Bidens and their dogs Major and Champ at the White House this week marks the return of a longstanding tradition - four-legged furry friends at the 18-acre estate that is home to the U.S. president.
Outgoing President Donald Trump was the first president since Andrew Johnson in the 1860s not to share the presidential digs with a dog or a cat - or even a raccoon, like the one kept by Calvin Coolidge in the 1920s.
Major, a German Shepherd, will be the first rescue dog ever to live in the White House. The Bidens adopted him in November 2018 from the Delaware Humane Association. Champ, also a German Shepherd, joined the family in 2008.

“It is perfectly fitting that the Showtime Marching Band, the ensemble that captures and reverberates the heartbeat of our institution, should accompany her on this last leg of her journey to the White House,” Frederick said.
“It was that steady pulse of her Alma Mater’s legacy that propelled her forward, and it is that same rhythm that will carry her onward as she undoubtedly will become one of the most influential vice presidents in the history of our nation,” he added.
The school said in its announcement on Monday that its band will have its “drumline, the Flashy Flag Squad, and Ooh La La dancers in the inauguration parade, representing less than one-third of the band for safety precautions,” given the ongoing pandemic.
