Dubai: A 30-year-old unemployed Indian man has won USD 1 million in a raffle draw contest in the UAE, according to a media report on Monday. Navaneeth Sajeevan won the mega prize money in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Draw held on Sunday after he picked the Millennium Millionaire Series 345, the Gulf News reported.

The Dubai Duty Free three-day 37th anniversary discount campaign generated sales of Dhs70 million/$19.175 million.
Beginning on 18 December and ending at midnight on 20 December, the 25% discount on a range of merchandise was extended to the retailer’s home-delivery customers.
Perfumes was the top selling category with sales of Dhs17.613 million/$4.825 million during the three-day period, followed by liquor with sales of Dhs8.624 million/$2.363 million.
Cosmetics sales reached Dhs8.179 million/$2.241 million, while watches sales topped Dhs7.891 million/$2.162 million. Ticket sales for the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise promotions reached a combined Dhs7.373 million/$2.020 million, making it the fifth most popular category.

Dubai Duty Free marked its 37th anniversary in style as it welcomed passengers travelling through Dubai with a special 25 per cent discount on a wide range of merchandise over three days from December 18-20.
The 72 hours anniversary sale, which was also extended to its ‘Home Delivery’ customers, resulted in sales of Dh69.990 million ($19.175 million).
From a category point of view, perfumes was the highest selling category with sales of Dh17.613 million during the three-day period. Sales of cosmetics reached Dh8.179 million, while sales of watches topped Dh7.891 million. Sales of tickets for the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise promotions combined reached a staggering Dh7.373 million, making it the fifth most popular category.
A large majority of UAE residents are interested in lucky draws
DUBAI, December 21, 2020 Some 83% in the UAE are either very or somewhat interested in participating in lucky draws, specifically the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi Duty Free or the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draws. YouGov looked at lucky draw competitions run in the UAE and polled a representative sample of 1,000 UAE residents in October 2020. However only 29% say they actually buy a ticket in at least one of the draws every month while a further 39% say they play less often, and 32% say they never play in either draw. Even among those that say they have never bought a ticket, 60% are somewhat or very interested in doing so, showing a great deal of latent demand.

Navaneeth Sajeevan, a 30-year-old Indian national based in Abu Dhabi, became a dollar millionaire in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise Promotion.
A resident of Abu Dhabi for four years now, Sajeevan is a father of one. He was made redundant due to the current pandemic.
