Dubai Airports signs agreement with Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services

Dubai: Dubai Airports has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services to enhance collaboration and the emergency services at the Dubai International Airport (DXB). The MOU was signed by Jamal Al Hai, Deputy CEO of Dubai Airports, and Khalifa Al Darai, Executive Director of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, with a view to achieving greater cooperation between the two parties in support of the goals and future plans of Dubai Government. The agreement will help increase in joint initiatives, advance knowledge sharing, and lead to further improvements in qualification and training programmes.

Dubai paramedics cater to 493 cases on New Year s eve

Dubai: A total of 493 calls were received by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services during the New Year eve celebrations, it was announced on Friday. The corporation dealt with 542 patients suffering from different injuries and medical conditions from 2pm on December 31 until 6am on the morning of the first day of the new year. Khalifa Hassan Al Drai, Executive Director of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, said that the reports received included simple and moderate cases, as well as very few serious cases, which were transferred to the nearest hospitals. Some other cases were treated on site. Al Drai stated that there were 25 serious cases, 114 moderate and 321 simple cases. He added that the number of cases that resulted from accidents amounted to 35 while the number of cases transferred to hospitals touched 138. As many as 219 cases were treated on site.

Dubai s Aster volunteers launch mobile medical services for Sudan

Dubai: Aster Volunteers Mobile Medical Services flagged off its 14th mobile medical services for Sudan from Aster Hospital in Al Qusais. Launched by Aster DM Healthcare in 2012 to provide quality healthcare to people living in areas with little or no healthcare facility, Aster Volunteers have their footprints in countries like India, Philippines, Oman and Ethiopia, besides the UAE. They have impacted more than two million lives and have 27,000 associated volunteers who run various initiatives under the programme. The 14th medical unit has been launched in partnership with Big Heart Foundation.
