President Joe Biden on Thursday announced a series of new firearm measures in an effort to address gun violence in the U.S. in the wake of recent mass shootings.
During an appearance in the White House Rose Garden, Biden revealed a set of moderate measures to combat gun violence. These include a system to make it easier for people to flag family members who shouldn’t be allowed to purchase guns, a review on the use of stabilizing braces on pistols and a crackdown on “ghost guns,” which are firearms assembled from kits.

WASHINGTON – During his Thursday announcement on gun control, President Joe Biden acknowledged the work of two gun-control activists after two mass shootings in Florida the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting that killed 17 in 2018 and the Pulse Nightclub shooting that killed 49 in 2016.
The grief after the shootings turned Fred Guttenberg, of Parkland, and Brandon Wolf, of Orlando, into activists who are devoted to standing against gun violence and promoting gun control in both Florida and the United States. Guttenberg said they are not alone.

Wilson is a former UT student who began manufacturing 3D-printed pistols in 2012. He went on to found Defense Distributed and eventually Ghost Gunner, which manufactures machines used to create 3-D-printed receivers and frames for pistols and long-guns.
