The DIAA will award $500 grants to schools that win a contest for viewing a vaping-education video.Coastal Point • Submitted The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) has partnered with the American Lung Association through the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Tobacco Prevention Community Contract to sponsor a video viewing contest to educate Delaware students about the health dangers of e-cigarette and vaping usage. To participate in the contest, students must view the “Understanding Vaping and E-Cigarettes” video (https://nfhslearn.com/courses/understanding-vaping-and-e-cigarettes) through the National Federation of High Schools Learn curriculum course. Participants should watch the video and complete the course to register a video “view” for their school.

Foundation Health Partners leaders provided a Covid-19 update, pointing out the record-high admission rate at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and describing changes in patient demographics. Averaging at 10 and 11 new Covid patients per day this past week, the hospital had 12 Covid-19 patients on Friday and two more who were suspected to have the virus, said FHP Chief Medical Officer Dr. Angelique Ramirez. “We are really struggling right now; we have a record-high number of patients in the hospital,” Shelley Ebenal, FHP CEO and quality medical director, said.
