Roadworks taking place across the BCP Council area

Avon Causeway (Christchurch) – Hurn Bridge Roundabout to Ringwood Road Temporary traffic signals until 31 March during SSET’s maintenance works. 4. Banks Road (Poole) – junction with Salter Road to 56 Temporary carriageway restrictions on 10 March until 27 March during SSE’s maintenance works. 5. Barrack Road (Christchurch) – Bailey Roundabout to Fountain Roundabout Temporary carriageway restrictions on 15 February until 15 March during Cityfibre’s new installation works.

Construction has got underway for Renewables developer Fotowatio Renewable Ventures’s (FRV) second battery storage project in the UK, together with partner Harmony Energy. FRV, owned by Saudi Arabian industry group Abdul Latif Jameel, has deployed hundreds of megawatts of wind and solar projects around the world since 2006, when it built what was then the world’s largest solar plant, a 23MWdc project in Spain. However, the company only began its involvement in battery storage in 2019 with the announcement of its first grid-scale battery project, the 7.5MW / 15MWh Holes Bay project in England.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council is continuing work to resolve problems with the lifting mechanism which emerged in 2018. BCP said it had also spent £55,166 so far of the £140,500 annual bridge maintenance budget for 2020/21. But it says, with work continuing, the full cost of repairs is not yet known. Final repairs to the crossing between Poole and Hamworthy were halted earlier this month amid technical problems.
