Jay Inslee asked staff, volunteers and managers of a Puyallup COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic Thursday if they could handle a coming surge in vaccine doses. The clinic, held at a parking lot across from the Washington State Fairgrounds, was to administer second doses of the Moderna vaccine to 2,500 people. What would you need to do to get to 3,500? Inslee asked the group. More vaccine, he was told. More is coming soon, he replied. But getting those doses into arms could be a challenge.

City, county government waiting in limbo after Trump doesn t sign COVID relief bill Matt Markovich, KOMO News Reporter © Provided by KOMO-TV Seattle City and county governments are waiting in limbo, just like anyone else thinking that they were going to get stimulus money next week from the $900 billion-dollar package approved by Congress on Tuesday. Most of the COVID relief programs run by local governments were funded from the $2.2 trillion-dollar CARES Act passed in March. But that money has all but run out. President Trump has said he won’t sign the legislation without an increase from $600 to $2000 in the direct payment to most Americans. The House of Representatives will meet Monday to change that portion of the bill but nothing else.
