The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) have committed to work closely to fuel up the development and transfer of innovative technologies not only in the Philippines, but also in Southeast Asian region.

The Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Centre supports countries in Southeast Asia to report progress towards United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, quality education for all.
The GEM Centre has provided technical and financial support for the development of described proficiency scales in reading literacy, mathematical literacy and writing literacy for the Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics (SEA-PLM), the first large-scale assessment of learning outcomes of Grade 5 students in Southeast Asia. The proficiency descriptors enable participating countries to report the proportion of students meeting global minimum proficiency levels in reading and mathematics at the end of primary school (SDG 4.1).

Image courtesy of The Nation Thailand/ANN BANGKOK, March 14 (The Nation Thailand/ANN): Asean governments joined hands with international researchers in a bid to improve the region’s lagging standard of STEM education (science, technology, engineering and maths).
The researchers offered proposals to boost STEM education at an international video conference organised by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMOE) on Thursday.
They were also asked to develop strategies for strengthening Asean students’ STEM knowledge, which is falling victim to digital disruption, rural-urban inequality, and impacts from Covid-19.
STEM knowledge among Asean youth currently falls well below the global average.
