Southeast Texas hospitals urging neighbors to help protect others

They re imploring Southeast Texans to do four simple things to save lives. Author: Dominique Leh, KBMT (12NewsNow) Published: 7:20 PM CDT August 3, 2021 Updated: 7:20 PM CDT August 3, 2021 PORT ARTHUR, Texas Tuesday marks one of the worst days on record during the pandemic as 396 Southeast Texans are now battling the virus. The three hospital systems urging us all to limit our exposure to help protect our neighbors are The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas and CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System. They put out a joint statement Tuesday, outlining the steps we all need to know to help stop the spread.

Christus Southeast Texas System Allows More Visitors, Masks Required

By Harold Mann ( Beaumont, TX, June 23, 2021) – CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System is taking another gradual step toward allowing more access to our hospital and facilities. We are updating our visitor policy to now allow for two visitors per patient room at a time. Since last fall, the policy allowed patients to have one visitor at a time.  This revision comes as the health system continues to evaluate policies and procedures throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Last month, CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System switched to a signage-based screening system, allowing visitors to check their own symptoms upon entering our facilities. The health and safety of our patients, visitors and Associates remain our top priority. As such, we will continue to carefully consider other changes that are critical to our mission and our patients.
