Cavalier House Books, a new and used general trade bookstore in Denham Springs, La., opened in 2009, but its roots go back to 2005, when John Cavalier and his future wife Michelle Cavalier started supplying local elementary, middle, and high schools with required-reading titles while they were still students at Southeastern Louisiana University. At first, they filled their pickup truck with orders off of 18-wheelers on the highway because they were not allowed to deliver to residential homes, and they shipped books out of a 12-sq.-ft. shed in the backyard of John’s parent’s house in Denham Springs, a bedroom community across the river from Baton Rouge. “When things got busy, we would have palettes of books in the living room,” John said.

Once on site, those being tested will need to wear a mask and stay in their cars.
For those ages 13 and older, the site will use a self-administered nasal swab test that will allow those being tested to swab their own nose on site while in their vehicles. Those being tested will drop the sealed sample into a container on their way out of the drive-thru site.
Parents will administer tests to their children ages 12 and younger.
While awaiting results, individuals who have been tested should follow CDC guidelines and take steps to help prevent the virus from spreading to people in their home and community.

HAMMOND, La. (WVUE) - The basketball court inside of the University Center on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University now has a new name.
North Oaks Health System and Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics announced last week that they are strengthening their partnership and the naming rights to the court were a part of the deal that will last through 2023. The announcement was made in conjunction with Super Lion Saturday, which was held on March 6, during the Lions’ season-opening win over McNeese 25-20.
