Airport s $7 9 Million Grant Agreement for Commercial Terminal Project Moves Forward

ROCK SPRINGS A grant for nearly $8 million for the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport’s Commercial Terminal Modernization project was unanimously approved by the Rock Springs City Council tonight. During the presentation portion of the meeting, Airport Director Devon Brubaker said the $7.9 million grant agreement is between the United States Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration and the City of Rock Springs for the commercial terminal modernization project. Brubaker said this is the second of three federal grants the airport will be receiving to complete the project. The first grant for $4.9 million was already approved and the third grant, for about $1 million, will not come until 2022 or 2023.

SEDC to Present Proposal to Bring Natrium Nuclear Facility to Sweetwater County

SWEETWATER COUNTY  During the Sweetwater County Commission meeting Tuesday, the Sweetwater Economic Development Coalition (SEDC) will present its proposal to have Sweetwater County become the home of the Natrium Nuclear Facility. The Commission will meet Tuesday, July 20, at 8:30 a.m. at the Sweetwater County Courthouse in Green River. SEDC recently submitted a County wide marketing proposal to the executives of TerraPower and PacifiCorp to aide in the selection process of recruiting the Natrium Nuclear Facility to Sweetwater County. Along with the proposal, SEDC also gathered multiple letters of support including from both the Rock Springs and Green River Chambers, Sweetwater County School District No. 1 and No. 2, Western Wyoming Community College, the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport, Le Bus Wyoming, and from Sweetwater County’s Wyoming State Legislators.
