The 2021 Allora Heritage Weekend is off to a flying start, with big crowds from across southeast Queensland hitting the small Southern Downs town.
Rows upon rows of classic and vintage cars, motorcycles, trucks and machinery were lined up across the Allora Showgrounds, with several parades through the arena.
The annual Australia Day weekend event was officially opened by Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi, who said he was thrilled to see so many people turn out.

MOTORSPORTS: The Warwick Dragway is set to become a national-grade facility and one of the stateâs biggest racing venues, thanks to a huge $1.9 million funding boost.
After several events were claimed by coronavirus restrictions, including the clubâs massive 20th Dragfest anniversary, vice president John Loy said the upgrades would prove vital to their 2021 comeback.
âIt feels excellent, itâs unbelievable actually. Itâs a great Christmas present for the drag racing community and our whole local community,â Loy said.
âWe missed out on our 20th anniversary for the drag strip this year, so next year will be a big one, and weâll be able to host national-grade events with the upgrades,â Loy said.

STANTHORPE residents have been offered “salvation” in Emu Swamp Dam as Southern Downs councillors voted yes in the historic decision buy into the irrigation project this morning.
Emotions ran high in what Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi called it the biggest strategic vote Southern Downs Regional Council had made in 17 years.
