South Florida will soon be getting a new mass vaccination site for COVID-19. Palm Beach County, partnership with the Health Care District and the Florida Department of Health, plan to open the fairground vaccination site on Wednesday of next week, which will be February 10th. Initially we will be able to do a limited number of vaccines at this site.
County Mayor Dave Kerner said they will eventually be able to vaccinate 7,000 people per day at the South Florida Fairgrounds near West Palm Beach, but need the supplies to increase first.
The site will include an air conditioned tent with 24 separate areas where the vaccine will be administered, along with kiosks to speed up the registration process.

Vaccines pouring back into Palm Beach County after Publix snafu
A week after Palm Beach County commissioners blasted Gov. Ron DeSantis for shutting off the county’s supply of coronavirus vaccines, it appears the spigot has been turned back on.
In addition to the 5,000 doses that were sent to the county health department this week, another 4,000 were delivered to its separate tax-financed health care district after commissioners complained that all of the county’s vaccines had been diverted to Publix.
In addition, another 6,000 are to be dispatched so vaccination sites can be set up in communities and other areas convenient to seniors, said Commissioner Melissa McKinlay.

Crews are preparing the South Florida Fairgrounds for a mass COVID-19 vaccination site, but nobody s sure when it will open, even though the goal is next Monday.
Palm Beach County says they will be able to vaccinate 7,000 people per day at the site, but they need to start getting enough doses first.
Workers were seen on Monday, lining cones up in the north end parking lot near a newly erected white tent.
The mini South Florida Fair wrapped up there on Sunday and officials with the fairgrounds said they were contacted by the county to see if they had availability of land to host a vaccine center.
