Seniors rush to Couva for covid19 vaccines

STAFF at the Couva District Health Facility said from around 6 am, there were already dozens of senior citizens on the compound to get vaccinated for the covid19 virus.
TT’s vaccination rollout programme began on Tuesday with 33,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from Covax.
This supply will see the continuation of the vaccination of frontline medical workers and will kickstart the vaccination of those 60 and older with non-communicable diseases (NCD) who attend public health clinics.
Members of the public in the same category can make appointments to be vaccinated on non-clinic days, either online or by calling the respective hotline.

There was reportedly a smooth covid19 vaccination rollout at the health facilities run by the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA).
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said at a media conference that 274 doses had been administered by 2 pm on Tuesday at the SWRHA.
The SWRHA said the administration had been smooth and seamless so far because of the efforts of its employees and valued patients.
Asked what was the projected number of vaccines to be administered by the end of the day, it said, “We reserve comment or release of such figures due to the fluidity and constant monitoring.”
