(Clifton) â An accident closed down Route 9 in Clifton overnight. State Police advised motorists to avoid the scene while workers clean up a load of tree length logs and the big truck that was hauling them. The crash was reported at about 1-oâclock this morning. One person reportedly suffered injuries when a car hit the logging truck. Officers expected the road to be closed for several hours.

Dozens of Maine schools now using COVID rapid tests for students and staff
The Maine CDC has distributed more than 4,000 rapid tests to K-12 schools since early November.

STATE All five eligible MaineHealth hospitals – Franklin Memorial Hospital, Maine Medical Center, Mid Coast Hospital, Pen Bay Medical Center and Southern Maine Health Care – have received a fall 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of ‘A,’ the highest hospital safety grade that Leapfrog offers.
Leapfrog assigns an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ or ‘F’ grade to 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals across the country every six months. Grades are based on 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data. The peer-reviewed methodology evaluates a hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care. Nationwide, 34 percent of hospitals received an ‘A’ grade this fall.

AUGUSTA, Maine NEWS CENTER Maine has received reports from public safety agencies, such as fire departments and police departments, that people are calling and asking about the vaccine. On Wednesday, Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah said Maine CDC has received similar calls. He said that while these calls are likely being made with good intentions, they are misguided. Unless you are a healthcare worker or have preexisting conditions, it may be many months until there is enough vaccine available nationally to vaccinate everyone who wants it.
