Wycombe Leisure Centre - stock photo A man in his eighties suffered a medical emergency in the swimming pool at Wycombe Leisure Centre this morning. An air ambulance, a South Central Ambulance Service ambulance and two rapid response vehicles were called to the Marlow Hill leisure centre after receiving a 999 call at 10.54am. Trained lifeguards had carried out immediate first aid after the man had suffered a medical emergency. The man, in his eighties, was given treatment at the scene by ambulance crews and was then taken to Wexham Park Hospital by road ambulance, with the air ambulance team travelling by road with them.
Breaking A man is in a critical condition tonight after a stabbing in Basingstoke this afternoon. Five ambulances and the air ambulance were scrambled to St Peter s Road in South Ham this afternoon after reports of a serious assault. Several police vehicles also descended on the scene and the road has been closed for several hours. South Central Ambulance Service said they received several 999 calls at around 3.15pm. Two people were found with stab wounds, with one of them in critical condition. A man was transferred by road to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Southampton, whilst the female had minor hand/arm injuries and was taken to Basingstoke hospital.

The 59-year-old victim was pulled from the water while unconscious in Clarence Pier, Portsmouth, yesterday afternoon.
She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, but later died.
A spokesman for Hampshire Police said: We were called shortly after 5.45pm on Saturday April 24 to a report that a woman was unconscious in the water on Clarence Esplanade, Southsea. Officers attended and a 59-year-old woman was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital. Despite best efforts, she was sadly pronounced dead on Saturday evening.
A woman in her 40s is now in a life-threatening condition in hospital, according to the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS)
