Researcher predicts third Covid-19 wave in Brazil
Brasilia, Feb 16 (Prensa Latina) The Covid-19 variant detected in Brazil was generated during the second wave of the disease in Amazonas, a Brazilian state that may face a third outbreak in May, researcher Lucas Ferrante predicts on Tuesday.
During an interview with GloboNews, the scientist said that the second outbreak of the disease in the country s northeastern region was not responsible for the collapse that occurred in January.
Ferrante, who is a biologist at the National Research Institute of the Amazon, is part of a group of scholars who predicted in 2020 the health catastrophe in that region due to Covid-19, a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

13 February 2021 (teleSUR) In response to the inefficiency of the Brazilian authorities, the residents of the Manaus neighborhood “Tribes Park” (Parque das Tribos) set up their “Support Unit” (SU), a rudimentary field hospital to treat COVID-19 patients.
Despite the high number of COVID-19 cases, they are not being treated directly by the Special Secretariat for Indigenous Health (SESAI) because they reside in an urban area.
