Views: Visits 30 A man in his early thirties, Olokose Ojo, has been murdered by ritualists neighbours who promised to assist him to get cows for his upcoming wedding ceremony in Kwara State. It was gathered that Mr Ojo was killed just six days to his wedding by his neighbour identified as Kazeem Mohammed and his gang for ritual purposes. Ojo, until his death, was a staff member at the National Health Insurance Scheme unit of the University of Ilorin  Teaching Hospital. It was alleged that Mohammed and his gang were ritualists and Mohammed had twice served jail terms. The suspected ritualists were said to have cut the victims body into pieces, packed it into a sack and deposited it at the mortuary of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

It is believed the attack was orchestrated by the kingpin of the gang and the deceased next-door neighbour named as Kazeem Mohammed who lured him to a bush in Patigi on the guise of helping him purchase three cattle to be used for the event at the rate of N350,000. He was however murdered and his body dismembered by the gang after withdrawing over N1.2m from his account with his ATM and demanding N12 million ransom from his wife-to-be, Ilori Oluwakemi. His body was exhumed by the police and taken to the UITH mortuary for autopsy. The police gave the names of the other three suspects as Mohammed Chatta, Jimoh Abdulateef and Madi Jeremiah all of whom are now in custody adding that they will be charged to court once judiciary workers call off their strike.

Groom-To-Be Murdered For Ritual Purposes By His Next-Door Neighbour

  NIGERIA: A staff of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS ) unit of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Olokose Oluwasola Ojo, has allegedly been murdered for ritual purposes by his next-door neighbour, identified as Kazeem Mohammed, and his gang members.  Vanguard reports that on Monday, March 8, the deceased who was at the peak of preparations for his wedding scheduled to hold in Akure, Ondo state on March 13, 2021, reportedly gave N350,000 to Kazeem to help him buy three cows.   According to the report, Kazeem who hails from Patigi in Kwara North had previously convinced and tricked the deceased that cows are very cheap in his area. The duo had in the wee hours of March 8, travelled to Patigi with the intention of buying the three cows while the bride to be, planned to return to Ilorin on the same day and then take the cows to Akure the next day for the wedding. 

Ho Prison Infirmary Upgraded To Health Centre

  The Ho Central Prison infirmary has been upgraded to a health centre to properly serve the health needs of inmates and officers of the prison. To enable the centre operate effectively some members of Parliament, especially from the Volta Region, have presented medical equipment worth GH¢65,780 to the prison. The medical equipment, including beds, thermometers, stretchers, stethoscopes, sterilisers and computers were purchased from donations of the members of Parliament from both political divides, led by the Member of Parliament for Afadjato South, Ms Angela Alorwu-Tay. Health care needs Speaking during the presentation, the Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mr Patrick Darko Missah, said the health care needs of inmates were important to the government.
