Social Democratic Party (PSD) MP Sorin Grindeanu said on Monday that his trip to the United States, when he was prime minister, along with Liviu Dragnea, was paid for by the PSD, agerpres reports.
He claimed that he did not know information about the new case against the former PSD leader Liviu Dragnea regarding the trip to the USA. I don t know anything at all, I have not seen the news. If the case was sent to court, it means that the defendants were informed. (.) I don t comment. I was together [with Dragnea] in the United States then. I have been twice heard as a witness in this case. I know that the party paid for my trip, the plane and the accommodation and everything else, Grindeanu said at Parliament.

Bucharest General Mayor Nicusor Dan said that he submitted to the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) a complaint about an estimated damage to the tune of several million euros incurred by the Municipality during the previous administration and that the crime scheme is all the more so cynical as it concerns the Bucharest cemeteries. Yesterday I filed with DNA a complaint about a considerable damage estimated to run in the millions of euros, caused to the Municipality during the previous administration. As this concerns the Bucharest cemeteries, this crime scheme is all the more so cynical. Having in view the legal provisions and the involvement of several public institutions in this matter, I cannot provide other details for now, Nicusor Dan wrote on Thursday on Facebook.

Deputy Prime Minister Dan Barna says he has gotten from the media information in connection with the control note of Romania s Anti-Fraud Department (DLAF) and that according to it, he is blamed for the fact that in what regards three recruitment forms, the filling in was not done face to face , but subsequently. The conclusions part, at least the one that has reached me, refers to, as far as I am concerned, only this activity of three forms the DLAF counselors deem I shouldn t have filled out, but they make a serious confusion about this. A project s recruitment activity doesn t mean the form the person is signing. The form is a finality of a few days- or weeks-long process where one finds the person, asks them for their resume, the person gathers their documents. Nobody is challenging that activity, neither the DLAF, nor the respective persons. It is only the said form they say it shouldn t have been (filled out), because they were not

The National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) has opened a criminal case investigating in rem acts of abuse of office in the case of the recent killing of Arthur the Bear. According to a response of DNA to AGERPRES, DNA prosecutors are carrying out investigations in the commission of an abuse of office where the officer got undue benefits for self or others, as punished under Article 297(1) of Romania s Criminal Code correlated with Article 132 of Law 78/2000, in connection with the manner in which the paperwork related to an exemption for the hunt of wild life was issued, amidst the killing this March of a brown bear in Romania s Oituz - Ojdula protected area.

The bear shot in Ojdula - Covasna County, in a suspected case of trophy-hunting, was harvested 22 days after the issuance of the derogation order, and the hunt was preceded by three weeks of monitoring during which the animal was followed entering yards or coming close to the locality, Minister of Environment, Waters and Forests Barna Tanczos told a press conference today, report agerpres.
