‘Developers of illegal societies to be penalised’

LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat has said that those who developed illegal housing societies across the province would have to face punishment and on the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan as protection to the savings of the poor people would be ensured.
He stated this while chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction and Development on Tuesday. The committee considered a plan of action to launch a crackdown on illegal housing societies in the province. Raja Basharat said that decades-old illegal societies had not been regularised so far and no action has been taken against anyone while savings of millions of people had sunk into these societies. He said that the committee would determine the causes of illegal societies and private and government officials involved therein.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to take measures on emergency basis to end fraud with the people, especially exploitation of overseas Pakistanis, in illegal housing projects and constructions.
Chairing weekly meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction and Development in Islamabad on Thursday, he said a common man is deprived of his life-long earnings through these illegal housing schemes, which needs to be stopped immediately.
The Prime Minister said protection of citizens interest, especially the poor, in construction activities is top priority of the government.

Pakistan’s prime minister directs officials concerned to expedite implementation of measures to improve governance
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday once again blamed Pakistan’s previous governments for “destroying” the country’s criminal justice system, adding that they had benefited from this “lawlessness.”
Presiding over a meeting in Islamabad to review reforms in the criminal justice system, as well as the implementation of civil procedure code in provinces, the prime minister said this sector is an important arm of governance, and reforms should be pursued on priority basis. The meeting’s participants informed him that the government was ready to implement all reforms that had been recommended by various task forces.
