Essex county councillor Simon Walsh, the cabinet member for Environment and Climate Change Action, highlights the latest updates from the district. These include a green infrastructure plan, tree planting initiatives and nature options on our doorsteps.
We are now a couple of weeks into lockdown and the county council’s seven Green Flag country parks remain open for exercise.
Please stick to your local area and avoid travelling great distances to have a day out. We have been getting reports that people are using these spaces to informally gather. This is not in the spirit of the lock-down rules and if we are to beat this pandemic, we need to reduce all opportunities for the virus to spread.
