New Delhi [India], June 10 (ANI): The national capital is all set to get its first smog tower by August 15, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Thursday, adding that its construction had been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The national capital is all set to get its first smog tower by August 15, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Thursday, adding that its construction had been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The 25-meter structure will address 10 points, ranging from dust pollution, vehicle pollution to pollution caused by stubble burning in neighbouring areas. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, construction work of the tower was slowed down at Cannaught Place. We expect it to be complete by August 15. After that, we will analyse its impact. Another one is being made in Anand Vihar by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). If the project becomes successful then more such towers will be built in Delhi, Rai said.

Srinagar, Oct, 20 (KNS): In an ambitious attempt aimed at solving the drainage and sewerage problems of the two capital cities of the state, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has said the ‘Greater Srinagar’ project will be completed by September 2013.According to official sources, the 260 crore rupees projects for Jammu and Srinagar citieswill link and manage drainage from more than 90,000 households in the cities of Jammu and Srinagar.
The Greater Srinagar and Jammu projects, which had been taken up by the in year 2008, the government had earlier signed an agreement with National Building Construction Coporation for execution of the project.
NEW DELHI: The government has prioritised setting up of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) medical oxygen generation plants in different parts of the country based on the high number of Covid cases and distance of these locations from the already existing oxygen generation plants.
They added while structures for plants to be set up by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) can be built in 7-10 days, the others to be set up by a Noida-based firm HITES will require a month. The agencies which are working in specific areas are being assigned the work so that civil and electrical works can be completed quickly, said an official.
