PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court judge and three members of his family, including wife and a two-year-old grandson, were shot dead after unidentified gunmen attacked their vehicle while they were travelling from the Swat Valley in northwest Pakistan to Islamabad, police said.
Two security guards who were part of the judge s convoy were also injured in the shootout.
The vehicle of ATC Judge Aftab Afridi, who was posted in Swat district, was intercepted by the gunmen near Swabi Interchange on Peshawar-Islamabad motorway in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday penned a letter to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser asking him to form an electoral reform committee in a bid to bring transparency to the elections. The recent Senate elections have highlighted once again the scourge of vote purchasing in the prevailing non-transparent manner of conducting elections, the premier said in the letter.

In a letter to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan asked him to form an inter-party parliamentary committee to discuss electoral reforms and bring transparency to elections.
The premier, in the letter written to the speaker, said the recent elections had highlighted once again the scourge of vote purchasing in the prevailing non-transparent manner of conducting elections .
The premier, in the letter, highlighted that the treasury bench had submitted a bill for meaningful electoral reforms to remove the prevailing stigma attached to our electoral process .
