CDC director says COVID-19 is becoming ‘pandemic of the unvaccinated’
During a White House briefing, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said cases in the U.S. were up about 70% over the last week, hospital admissions were up 36% and deaths rose by 26%.
The National Nurses Union asked the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reinstate universal mask-wearing guidelines and implement more robust data tracking citing an increase in cases across the country, according to a letter sent to the agency on July 12.
Following state reopenings which resulted in ends to preventative health measures such as mask-wearing, the NNU called on the CDC to reverse its COVID-19 guidelines released in May. Well, I guess we should have expected this to happen with the Delta variant. The nation’s largest registered nurses’ union is calling on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reinstate the mask mandate to curb the spread of coronavirus. They already were against the loosening of regulations concerning the vaccinated. They say their call to reinstate the mask protocols is based on science, and that no vaccine is 100 percent effective. They can go shove it (via The Hill):
