The calm demeanour of a group of street sweepers who protested against a sharp cut in their work hours in Montego Bay, St James earlier this week before they got colourful on video, which is carried below. Street sweepers in Montego Bay, St James on Monday and Tuesday protested over the National Solid Waste Management Authority’s (NSWMA) decision to slash their working hours by half, a move which will significantly affect their earnings. The street sweepers are seeking the intervention of Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Desmond McKenzie, who has portfolio responsibility for the NSWMA, to reverse authority’s decision.
